Let me tell you a story…..
A story of people for whom it was not easy to connect with their feelings and who found it difficult to overcome their problems. They were unable to help themselves and move forward with their lives. They spent years running away from themselves only to realize that they could not.
So they stopped and decided to be brave.
They decided to face their problems, learn how to love themselves and accept themselves for who they are. They stopped seeking approval from other people and decided to make changes. Because only they could change their lives.
‘It’s your road. And yours Alone. Others may walk with you, but no one can walk it for you.’ – Rumi
They embarked on a long journey of self – discovery and self – awareness. They started to work on their issues.
It was not easy. They felt worse before they started to feel better within themselves. They cried a lot. They laughed a lot. They were angry; with themselves, their family and people around them. They felt like giving up when it all got too much.
But they did not.
Mainly because the people walking alongside of them on this journey were encouraging them not to give up - their counsellors.
Their counsellors didn’t tell them what to do and they accepted them for who they were. They did not judge them; instead they showed their understanding and empathy. They helped them explore their feelings, helped them find the source of their problems and helped them work through them.
And when the time was right they let them walk this journey alone. Because now they could.
They knew how.
What is your story? Would you allow me to walk alongside you on your journey?
