There are many different approaches to counselling and it is not essential for you to understand them or be familiar with the terminology before seeking help. My model is called integrative because I bring together aspects of different approaches in order to create my own way of working.
We are all unique and using integrative model allows me to tailor therapy to clients and their individual needs as what might work for one person may not necessarily work for another.
Furthermore, not using just one type of approach allows me to be flexible and at the same time it gives you more choice of how you want to look at your issues.

Some of the approaches I have started to incorporate into my framework are Person Centred Therapy, CBT (Cognitive Behavioural Therapy), Trauma - Focused Therapy, Brief Solution Focused Therapy, Gestalt Therapy, Existentialism and Art Therapy.
Some people find it difficult to express themselves in words. I can provide colouring pencils, crayons and paper to help you explore your feelings.
I don’t claim to be an expert and I don’t claim to have all the answers. I believe that we all have it in us to find the solutions to our problems and find the right way forward. But sometimes we need help to deal with our issues and if you choose me as your counsellor I will do my best to try to help you find your own answers and solutions.
I have experience in working with clients of all ages from a great diversity of backgrounds, experiencing a wide range of issues. I have spent 9 years working in the field of addiction.
Alongside my private practice I am currently working with people who suffer from alcohol and drug addiction. Furthermore, I also work close with individuals who are survivors of child abuse (sexual, physical, emotional and neglect).

I am experienced in providing time limited therapy of 6 to 12 sessions, but equally have worked with people for long – term therapy.
I am committed to ongoing personal and professional development and I regularly add to my skills through specialist trainings and courses.
I attend supervision on a regular basis.
I am a member of the Canadian Counselling and Psychotherapy Association and I adhere to their Code of Ethics and Professional Conduct.
I hold both public liability and professional indemnity insurance.
